Lights Camera Action!

Posted: March 10, 2011 in Latest Events

Hello and welcome to the Arts in Action blog!

This is where I will be posting relevant information about films, backed films, interviews with collaborators, art exhibition announcements, and artist profiles.

In the latest collaborator news, I recently interviewed Richard Piscioneri, owner of Urban Artistry and  founder of the wonderful 1 camera 1000 smiles project. Soon I will be posting the transcription of this interview, where I find out more about the project.

In the latest venue news, I visited Donkey Wheel House to check their film screening facilities. There is a section of the basement  that is used for film screenings. Holding up to 40 people the area is converted into a cinema style layout. Find out more about this beautiful historic building.

In the latest film news, at the moment I am looking at screening Manufactured Landscapes by Edward Burtynsky (2007)

The theme of this event is recycling and will incorporates a camera drive to collect cameras on behalf of the 1 camera 1000 smiles projectThere will be a camera collection point on the night as well as information about the project and how people can become involved.

So it’s all starting to come together. After a month or so of researching films, venues and potential collaborators, I am now at the stage of co-ordinating my first screening event.  My target is mid May.

If you like to be notified of up and coming screenings or simply want to follow the progress of Arts in Action please subscribe to this blog by entering your email at the top left hand side of the screen.

Cheers Angie 🙂
